The name’s Melody.
I’m a digital artist with big hair and an even bigger passion for Photoshop. I started digitally painting back in 2006 and have been in love ever since. When I’m not painting I’m a regular contributor to some of my favorite design blogs like Tuts+ and 123RF.
Do you remember the Honey I Shrunk The Kids movies? Well my art is kind of like that. I’m fascinated by the idea that there are mysterious worlds within worlds, even on the human body. My personal work is influenced by surrealists like Frida Kahlo and I love to place a lot of symbolism into each piece. Born and raised in the boonies of Long Island, you’ll see that water is an important element in my work.
Here are just a few of the things that I’m passionate about:
- Digital Painting & Illustration
- Photo Manipulation & Photo Effects
- Graphic Design
Since the good ol’ days of geocities and altavista, let’s just say I’ve always had a blog. Creative writing is another huge passion of mine, birthed from the oh so romantic language of olden days.
Yup, I was THAT book nerd.
Nowadays I enjoy contributing as an author to many design sites. Offering tutorials, articles, and lessons from my experiences as a self taught designer and digital artist.
